Nancy O'Dell's debut job in the broadcast industry was as a reporter/anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Later, she was a morning reporter and anchor on WCBD TV. O'Dell's articles in Charleston concerning how Charleston police handled DUI cases with leniency resulted in an investigation by the State Law Enforcement Division. The inquiry led to a stronger directive for state authorities. It was reported that the Associated Press honored Ms. O'Dell with the Best Report of the Years Award in all South Carolina Media. Following her work in Charleston O'Dell served as anchor and investigative reporter at the NBC Miami station WTVJ-TV prior to her move to Access Hollywood as a weekend anchor and a weekday reporter. As well as her role as anchor for Access Hollywood Ms. O'Dell also contributes to NBC News' Today and also to Dateline NBC. She's been a reporter for the Academy Awards The Emmys The Grammys The Golden Globe Awards and co-hosted numerous pre-show arrivals show for The Emmys And The Golden Globes. The host of The Miss America Pageant as well as the Miss USA Pageant and Miss Universe.
